with Icing Drizzle
You don't have to be a star to impress with these simple to make Puff Pastry Stars... they're fun!
1 pkg. Puff Pastry
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup strawberry preserves
Egg wash (1 egg with 2 Tbsp. water, beaten)
Icing:
1/3 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 Tbsp. milk
STEPS
-
Preheat oven to 400°F.
-
Mix together cream cheese with sugar, egg yolk, vanilla and lemon juice.
-
Unroll refrigerated Puff Pastry and cut into 6 squares. Slice the corners of each square diagonally 2-3 in. toward the center leaving a center portion uncut.
-
Spoon 1 1/2 Tbsp. of cream cheese mixture onto the center of each square and spread over the center of the square. Top with 1 Tbsp. of strawberry preserves.
-
Take one of the corner triangle pieces and bring it over the center of the square, creating one star-like edge. Do the same with every other triangle so that end shape resembles a pinwheel star. Lightly press the center together and brush with egg wash.
-
Bake in oven for 13-15 minutes. Remove to cool.
-
Mix icing using 1/3 cup confectioners’ sugar with 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1 Tbsp. milk. Drizzle over stars. Serve.
Reviews & Ratings
These come together in just a few minutes, with a quick cook time, too. Instead of icing I sprinkled on coarse sugar before baking. I love Jus-Rol, so much easier to work with than other brands. With Jus-Rol I can work with the dough while it’s still cold instead of having to wait and unfold the other brands. The whole point of puff is that it stays cold!
AMAZING!!! Easy to make and simply scrumptious đ
